Manufacturing Maintenance Engineer

£45,000 - £50,000 (experience pending)

Monday - Friday - No Shifts


We're looking for a skilled Manufacturing Maintenance Engineer to become a vital part of our team.

In this role, you'll be responsible for keeping our clients plant machinery and production equipment running smoothly in a busy manufacturing environment. You'll play a hands-on role in reducing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and helping us meet our production goals.

We're after someone with solid mechanical expertise who enjoys getting to the root of problems and ensuring everything is running at its best.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Lead and guide the maintenance team in ensuring optimal upkeep of all machinery and equipment, focusing on reducing downtime and enhancing overall operational efficiency.

  • Promote the use of root cause analysis for equipment failures, developing and executing both corrective and contingency plans, while providing clear updates to site management.

  • Oversee the creation and execution of maintenance schedules for production machinery, with a focus on maximising Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and controlling maintenance expenses.

  • Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are up-to-date, technically accurate, and aligned with the current maintenance programme.

  • Guarantee that all regulatory and audit standards within the engineering department are fully adhered to.

  • Maintain full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations and policies in relation to the maintenance team's operations.

  • Set up and manage service agreements and contracts with third-party providers for site utility systems.

  • Supervise third-party contractors, ensuring all necessary documentation, such as risk assessments and method statements, is in place before work begins on site.

  • Undertake any additional responsibilities as assigned by line management.



Essential Skills and Qualifications


  • Qualifications: Time-served apprenticeship or relevant qualifications in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (City & Guilds, BTEC, HNC/HND, or equivalent).

  • Time Served: 3 + Years post apprenticeship experience or 1 years post apprenticeship experience

  • IT Proficiency: Familiarity with CMMS and proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
