Our client is looking for a Product Engineer to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in designing job-specific tooling, ensuring the accuracy of product specifications, and collaborating directly with customers to meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyse new product requests, utilising knowledge of machine capabilities to engineer the most efficient manufacturing process.
  • Interpret and manage customer-supplied specifications, ensuring they align with manufacturing capabilities, and communicate any discrepancies to customers.
  • Convert customer-supplied data into customer-facing specification format using AutoCAD, working closely with customers for approval.
  • Maintain organised and user-friendly master files for all customer specifications and supporting documentation.
  • Generate accurate internal product specifications in SAP for use in manufacturing, ensuring consistency in product production.
  • Collaborate with SAP data specialists to provide accurate product information, including SAP master data, Bills of Materials, and routings.
  • Design, order, and manage job-specific tooling in accordance with manufacturing specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's Quality Management System and manage change requests from various departments and customers.
  • Contribute to new business development projects, supporting the company's sales strategy.
  • Analyse and resolve product engineering-related manufacturing issues promptly, ensuring data accuracy and sound engineering practices.
  • Participate in customer audits and continuous improvement initiatives as required.

Experience:

  • Degree or Level 3 qualification in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or a relevant discipline.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • 2-4 years of relevant design and development experience.
