Process Control Technician

About the Role:
Our client is looking for a talented Process Control Technician to join their dynamic team. As a key member of operations, you will be responsible for setting up, maintaining, and monitoring processing equipment and machinery. Your expertise will help optimise efficiency, reduce downtime, and ensure the smooth operation of production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the plant is fully operational to meet production schedules.
  • Control key process input variables and maintain them within specified limits.
  • Address alarms immediately and document events, noting corrective actions taken.
  • Escalate critical issues to the General Manager and technical team when necessary.
  • Maintain process control to ensure product consistency and quality.
  • Continuously monitor process inputs to guarantee performance and quality.
  • Report weekly on costs and losses related to additives in daily and weekly SMT meetings.
  • Confidently make minor repairs where needed

Qualifications:

  • 4 GCSEs including English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
  • At least 2 years of experience in process or equipment setup in a high-volume production environment.
  • Mechanical setup, changeovers, and alignment experience with high-volume processing equipment.
  • Ability to follow procedures, systems, and processes.
  • Proficiency in monitoring and adjusting process variables for optimal control.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving process and equipment issues.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • NVQ/HNC in Engineering or related fields.
  • Familiarity with SCADA control systems.
