The Role:
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you'll take a proactive approach to reducing equipment downtime, boosting reliability, and ensuring production targets are met consistently. We seek someone with a solid mechanical foundation, skilled in troubleshooting and maintaining optimal operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the maintenance team to ensure machinery and equipment are effectively maintained, focusing on maximising uptime and enhancing efficiency.
- Perform root cause analysis for equipment issues and develop corrective and contingency plans, providing regular updates to management.
- Manage maintenance schedules for production machinery, maximising Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) while controlling costs.
- Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are current and align with the maintenance strategy.
- Maintain strict compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations, ensuring the maintenance team adheres to all safety protocols.
- Establish and manage service agreements with third-party providers for site utility systems.
- Oversee third-party contractors, ensuring all risk assessments and method statements are completed prior to work commencing.
- Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Completed apprenticeship or relevant qualifications in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (City & Guilds, BTEC, HNC/HND, or equivalent).
- At least 3 years of post-apprenticeship experience (1 year for fast-track applicants).
- Proficiency in CMMS systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
