Mechanical Site Engineer
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 (depending on experience)
Schedule: Monday - Friday (No Shifts)
Are you a skilled Mechanical Engineer looking for your next challenge? Join our dynamic team and play a key role in maintaining plant machinery and production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The Role: As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you'll take a hands-on approach to minimising equipment downtime, enhancing reliability, and ensuring production targets are consistently met. We're looking for someone with a strong mechanical background who excels at problem-solving and keeping operations running at peak efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the maintenance team to ensure machinery and equipment are optimally maintained, focusing on maximising uptime and improving operational efficiency.
- Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and develop corrective and contingency plans, providing regular updates to management.
- Manage maintenance schedules for production machinery, maximising Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and controlling costs.
- Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are accurate, up-to-date, and align with the current maintenance strategy.
- Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations, ensuring the maintenance team follows all safety protocols.
- Establish and manage service agreements with third-party providers for site utility systems.
- Oversee third-party contractors, ensuring all risk assessments and method statements are in place before work begins.
- Handle additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Time-served apprenticeship or relevant qualifications in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (City & Guilds, BTEC, HNC/HND, or equivalent).
- Minimum 3 years of post-apprenticeship experience (or 1 year for fast-track applicants).
- Proficiency in CMMS systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
