VANRATH is thrilled to be collaborating with a reputable company based in Belfast to recruit a dedicated Accounts Assistant for a permanent position. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected organisation with a strong presence in the local market and a well-established finance team.
Role Summary:
The Accounts Assistant will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the accounts department and maintaining the accuracy of accounting records. Key responsibilities include processing payments to creditors, reconciling debtor and creditor control accounts, and managing income returns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately process invoices and enter data into the computerised accounting system.
- Match and process invoices and purchase orders across all departments, ensuring compliance with procurement and payment procedures.
- Address supplier inquiries regarding outstanding payments and coordinate with relevant departments to resolve payment delays.
- Perform invoice checks, maintain payment registers for non-order supplier payments, accurately input transactions, and prepare payments to suppliers via BACs, cheques, direct debit, and credit card.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Salary and Benefits:
- Starting salary of £30,000, commensurate with experience.
- Permanent contract with immediate start available.

About You:
- 5 GCSEs (including English and Maths) at grades A-C or equivalent. Candidates without these qualifications will be considered if they can demonstrate 5 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in accruals accounting within a computerised accounting environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
