Accounts Assistant

Job Description

VANRATH are delighted to be partnering with a very valued client of ours to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their team due to growth within the business.

Reporting directly to Company Accountant the successful candidate will do the following duties:

Key Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate within the team to handle both supplier and customer invoice processing.
    • Conduct bank reconciliations, managing multiple bank accounts across three currencies, including month-end balancing.
    • Process invoices in the purchase ledger, ensuring accuracy by matching delivery notes and purchase orders with received invoices.
    • Reconcile statements within the purchase ledger and maintain the sales ledger control account.
    • Provide support for balance sheet reconciliations, including handling credit card statements.
    • Oversee credit management functions to ensure timely payments and maintain healthy cash flow.
    • Prepare VAT returns accurately and in compliance with regulations.
    • Assist in the compilation of month-end and year-end accounts for financial reporting.
    • Maintain updated and accurate customer information within the system.
    • Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from both customers and suppliers.
    • Carry out other miscellaneous tasks as required to support the broader finance team.

About you

  • At least 2 years in a similar role
