VANRATH are assisting our client, a large Public Sector Organisation, in their search for an Trainer Assessor: Welding/Fabrication for an initial 3 month period, with a view of going permanent

Responsibilities
As a Trainer Assessor for Welding/Fabrication Engineering, you will train and assess learners undertaking vocational qualifications; by enhancing their skills and underpinning knowledge, you will support and guide them in attaining their qualifications. You will also play a key role advising management and curriculum on trends within the Engineering sector.

  • To plan and undertake trainee assessments within vocationally relevant locations.
  • Prepare trainees for vocationally relevant assessment; this should include relevant training in practical skills and underpinning knowledge, assessment planning and Internal Quality Assurance, time management and target setting, protocols and procedures for assessment under the awarding body requirements.
  • To train and assess trainees in the workplace, in work related activity and in vocationally relevant realistic working environments as defined.
  • Use a range of assessment methods relevant to the trainee and the assessment environment.
  • Develop, implement and regularly evaluate a portfolio for the Performance units.
  • To build upon and develop new relationships with the electrical contracting sector in order to establish a pipeline of employment opportunities for current and future learners


Requirements

Essential Criteria
Qualifications and experience

  • Level 3 Apprenticeship in an Engineering discipline.
  • Level 4 Qualification in Engineering.
  • GCSE English Language at Grade C or above or equivalent qualification.
  • GCSE Mathematics at Grade C or above or equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of five years' experience post apprenticeship in the engineering sector.
  • Evidence/listing of professional development undertaken over the last two years demonstrating Knowledge/Skills gained on current developments in the Engineering industry.

Desirable Criteria

  • NVQ Level qualification, or equivalent, at least one level higher than the curricular area in which you wish to assess. (e.g. to assess an NVQ Level 3 course, it is desirable that the applicant has an NVQ Level 4 qualification in the curricular area).
  • Professional qualification such as CSWIP.
  • Experience in a range of welding and fabrication processes.



Remuneration
c£30,000 plus discount benefits.
