About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Officer to join a leading local government body. The successful candidate will support the Procurement Manager in delivering value-for-money procurement services, ensuring compliance with UK and EU regulations while providing expert advice to internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing procurement processes, ensuring compliance with Council policies and procurement regulations.
- Advising on procurement risks and minimising exposure to potential challenges.
- Managing e-Procurement transactions, including e-Tenders and e-RFQs.
- Preparing tender and quotation documents, conducting evaluations, and providing recommendations.
- Conducting market research to ensure best value for money and supplier performance monitoring.
- Managing fuel stock audits for Council fleets and buildings.
- Providing training and guidance to staff on procurement procedures.
Essential Criteria
- A Level 4 qualification (HNC or equivalent) with at least one year of experience in procurement competitions.
- OR at least two years of experience in procurement competitions if no formal qualification.
- Strong knowledge of e-Procurement systems and experience in tender documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Email).
- Ability to analyse data, provide reports, and work effectively with stakeholders.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in editing and producing procurement-related documents in line with Council policies.
