Job Title: Project Engineer
Salary: £37,000 - £40,000 (negotiable for right candidate)
Location: Cookstown

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a dedicated and highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team and take charge of project planning, forecasting, and coordination. This role is ideal for someone who excels in managing complex projects from inception through to successful completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality. You'll work closely with other engineers to design and implement custom equipment and control systems tailored to meet specific project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Budgeting: Work with the Commercial Team to develop project plans and budgets, ensuring all milestones are clearly defined and met.
  • Supplier Sourcing & Procurement: Identify and secure suppliers aligned with project bills of materials, managing all purchasing to stay within budget.
  • Documentation Management: Distribute up-to-date drawings and documentation to subcontractors, ensuring accuracy for fabrication or assembly.
  • Site Coordination: Oversee all site preparations, including surveys, logistics, health & safety protocols, resource allocation, and on-site testing.
  • Project Scheduling & Monitoring: Prepare, schedule, and manage assigned projects, following a document control process to ensure standard adherence.
  • Client Communication: Maintain ongoing communication with clients and stakeholders, understanding their needs and presenting solutions effectively.
  • Contract Management: Handle contract administration, issuing compensation events, early warnings, and quotes as required.
  • Financial Reporting: Provide regular invoicing updates to the finance team to ensure accurate financial tracking.
  • Quality Control: Monitor project quality, ensuring all standards are met and updating stakeholders on project progress as required.

About You

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree (minimum 2:2) in an engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of post-graduate experience in a similar project engineering role, ideally in a fabrication or heavy engineering environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project).
  • Additional Requirements: A full, valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
