IT Support Technician

Job Description

A respected professional services company is on the lookout for a skilled IT Support Technician to provide frontline technical assistance. This position requires diagnosing and resolving IT challenges, ensuring seamless system functionality, and assisting with infrastructure improvements. It is an ideal role for a proactive individual eager to develop hands-on expertise in a high-energy environment and progress in the field of IT Services.

*5 days on site in Belfast City Centre

Key Responsibilities:



IT Support & Helpdesk

  • Deliver first-line technical assistance through various channels, including phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.

  • Manage and track IT support tickets, ensuring timely resolution or appropriate escalation.

  • Support software installations, hardware configuration, and system updates.

  • Contribute ideas for optimising IT processes and enhancing user experience.



Systems & Network Management

  • Administer and troubleshoot key business applications such as Microsoft 365.

  • Ensure stable network connectivity across LAN, WAN, and VPN.

  • Perform routine maintenance on company devices, including desktops, laptops, and peripherals.

  • Support the management of vitalised infrastructures (VMware) and cloud-based solutions (Azure Virtual Desktop).



Security & Regulatory Compliance

  • Assist in cybersecurity initiatives, including adherence to ISO 27001 standards and vulnerability assessments.

  • Help oversee email security protocols and contribute to IT compliance audits.

  • Promote security awareness and best practices among staff.

Ideal Candidate:

  • 1-3 years of experience in IT support roles.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Windows 10/11, and fundamental networking concepts.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer service orientation.

  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks, prioritise effectively and work under pressure.
