HR Advisor - Public Sector

VANRATH are delighted to be assisting our major Public Sector client, a large and well-known organisation with the recruitment of an HR Advisor to join their team based in Antrim.

This is a Full-Time Monday-Friday position. This is a Temporary contract expected to last for a minimum of 6 months.

Salary

Responsibilities:

  • HR Advice: Offer first-line guidance to employees, applicants, and managers on HR-related questions.
  • Meetings & Representation: Attend operational meetings, advising managers and overseeing HR activities.
  • Projects: Lead HR projects and propose improvements to enhance service delivery.
  • Absence Management: Participate in sickness/absence reviews and prepare Occupational Health referrals.
  • Recruitment & Selection: Draft job advertisements, prepare recruitment documents, participate in interviews, and ensure compliance with equal opportunity standards.
  • Contract Management: Issue job offers and contracts, and oversee pre-employment checks.
  • Investigations: Serve as the HR representative in disciplinary and grievance investigations.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain HR records and manage HR-related email inquiries.
  • Payroll & Finance: Handle payroll notifications and invoice processing.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Engage in working groups and initiatives promoting equality.

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualifications: CIPD Level 3 or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: At least 2 years in a people-focused role with problem-solving and customer service experience.
  • Skills: Strong organisational, digital, communication, and negotiation abilities.
  • Attributes: Positive, flexible, and solution-oriented.
  • Other: Valid driving license or access to transportation if needed.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Membership of the CIPD Level 5 qualified.
  • Experience in recruitment and selection procedures for staff.
  • Experience of using an HR information system.
