VANRATH are delighted to be assisting our major Public Sector client, a large and well-known organisation with the recruitment of an Admin Assistant to join their team based in Antrim.

This is a Full-Time Monday - Friday position. This is a Temporary contract expected to last for a minimum of 2 months.

The main purpose of this position is to provide a comprehensive customer care and administrative service as part of the Business Support Team including Waste Management, Fleet, Waste Operations and Sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Primary point of contact for all waste enquiries and complaints from the general public including answering queries, reporting issues and taking payments.
  • Deal courteously and effectively with Emails and Social Media requests from members of the public, commercial customers, stakeholders and external agencies.
  • Collaborate and effectively communicate with the Contracted Services Suppliers to ensure the smooth running of all household bin collections and escalate to line managers any issues which may need escalated.
  • Assist with financial procedures of the department including receiving payments from customers, processing these and completing reconciliation and daily reports to the finance department.
  • Assist with the organisation and administration of events when required.
  • Record and update data from Waste Dockets onto the Waste Data Flow database.
  • Participate in training and development initiatives in line with the organisation's policies and guidelines.
  • Provide a high level of internal and external customer service including taking ownership of customer queries and complaints and following issues through to completion


Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum 5 GCSES (Grades A-C) to include English Language and Maths.
  • Minimum of 1 years' administrative or clerical experience.
  • Good planning and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work to a high standard with minimum supervision.
  • Competent in the use of Windows and Microsoft Office.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience within a fleet, transport or logistics environment.
