They are committed to excellence in their operations and the well-being of employees. They are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join their team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead and mentor the health and safety team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective safety management across all levels.
  • Collaborate with department heads to integrate safety practices into daily operations and foster a culture of safety awareness.
  • Investigate and report on incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and implement strategies to prevent recurrence.
  • Coordinate and deliver health and safety training programs for employees, ensuring up-to-date knowledge and compliance.
  • Monitor and review safety performance metrics, and prepare reports for senior management.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry standards, legislation, and best practices related to health and safety.
  • Manage emergency response plans and ensure all staff are adequately prepared for emergencies.
  • Liaise with external bodies such as regulatory agencies and auditors to maintain compliance and address any issues that arise.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in health and safety, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations, and standards, particularly within the manufacturing sector.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Member of IOSH
  • HACCP certification or extensive experience with HACCP principles.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing health and safety strategies.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to influence and engage with all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
