VANRATH are delighted to be working with a highly innovative award winning scaling business for the appointment of a commercially astute Financial Controller. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer the Financial Controller will be responsible for developing the finance function and take ownership of the monthly management accounts including cost management & profitability analysis.


About you

  • Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Strong MS Excel skills and SAGE 200 experience
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

What you'll do

  • Develop cash flow forecasts and provide regular updates to the CFO and senior management.
  • Run the monthly management accounts process, consolidating the accounts of our UK, US and Australian companies..
  • Monitor, forecast and manage the company's cash flow to ensure liquidity and operational efficiency and provide regular updates to the CFO and senior management.
  • Lead project costing analysis and revisions to the pricing model.
  • Assist with performing balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis, maintaining supporting schedules for various entities and accounts, and assist with discrepancy resolutions.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost forecasts.
  • Work closely with the commercial and delivery teams to identify and recommend process improvements in the sales/revenue process.
  • Assist in preparing schedules and respond to inquiries and requests for support from management or external accountants in conjunction with the financial audit.
  • Assist with the preparation of Invest NI grant claims.
  • Develop comprehensive financial models to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, coordinating with various departments to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Monitor actual performance against budgets, identifying and explaining variances, and proposing corrective actions as needed.
  • Design, implement, and maintain a robust internal control environment to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Oversee tax compliance, including the preparation and filing of tax returns.
  • Overseeing of payroll across UK, US and APAC
  • Compiling and preparing financial statements that comply with local accounting standards and regulations. This includes balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Filing statutory returns, which might include annual returns, quarterly tax returns, and other regulatory reports. Ensuring all statutory deadlines are met to avoid penalties.
  • Compiling of reports for SMT & Board
