Corporate Equality Officer - 35k
Job Description
VANRATH are delighted to be assisting our client, a large Public Sector Organisation with the recruitment of a Corporate Equality Officer to join their team based in Belfast.
This is a Full-Time Monday - Friday position. 37 hours per week. Monday - Friday 9 - 5.
Salary
£35,392 per annum, plus benefits.
Responsibilities:
- To manage and monitor implementation of the organisation's Equality Scheme and Disability Action Plan.
- To support the Assistant Director in mainstreaming equality within the organisation including within strategic planning and decision making processes.
- To undertake benchmarking and research activities.
- To provide advice and guidance to managers in relation to equality legislation and compliance with statutory duties.
- To work with colleagues in the development and implementation of systems to ensure compliance with duties under the Disability Discrimination Act.
- To deliver training related to Equality and Human Rights including Senior Managers.
- Responsible for managing identified work streams within the Equality and Human Rights.
- To develop and maintain systems for the collation and analysis of statistical information including population demographics and for the collation and analysis of qualitative information. The post holder will then be expected to propose and implement improvements and additions in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
- Take part in staff development programmes and annual development reviews and/or undertake further training if and when required.
- Act in a manner consistent with legislation, policy and procedures in respect of Equality and Diversity.
Essential Criteria:
A university degree or equivalent professional qualification and a minimum of 2 years experience in:-
- leading work streams which demonstrate specialist knowledge in the application of equality legislation or
- leading stakeholder involvement and consultation processes in respect of organisational policy.
OR
A diploma or equivalent professional qualification and a minimum of 3 years experience in:-
- leading work streams which demonstrate specialist knowledge in the application of equality legislation or
- leading stakeholder involvement and formal consultation processes in respect of organisational policy.
OR
A minimum of 5 years experience in a Health and Social Care field with a minimum of 3 years experience in:-
- leading work streams which demonstrate specialist knowledge in the application of equality legislation or
- leading stakeholder involvement and formal consultation processes in respect of organisational policy.
- A minimum of one years' experience in the development and delivery of training and/or presentations.
- Experience in the development of management reports including the collation, presentation and analysis of quantitative and/or qualitative data.
