VANRATH are recruiting on behalf of a well-established client based in County Down, who are seeking an experienced Administrator to join the team as a vital contributor to the office's success. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing effective and efficient administrative support, with a primary focus on enhancing reception services.

Things to know about the job

  • Salary - £22,000
  • 36.25 hours/week - 8am - 4pm (or 830am - 430pm if preferred)
  • Temporary contract, with possibility of extension

The Person

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in an administrative support role, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deal with people confidently and sensitively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and take initiative.
  • A positive, can-do attitude with the ability to work collaboratively both individually and as part of a team, along with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new computer systems.
  • Able to complete Enhanced Access NI check.


The Role

  • Deal with enquiries from the public, staff, and students in person, via email, and over the telephone as part of the school reception services, while managing the efficient and timely distribution of all messages to staff, students, and parents, including the use of the school's communication systems.
  • Support the administration of the school's computerised attendance management system and provide timely reports in accordance with school procedures and protocols, while also administering incoming and outgoing post in line with established procedures.
  • Provide administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team, the Administration Department as required, including assistance at events and participating in relevant training as needed.
  • Assist in fire evacuation procedures, implement all policies and procedures, and carry out any other duties as requested by the Senior leadership team, Finance Manager, and Human Resources Manager, as appropriate to the role.
