Once upon a time in Belfast…

Picture this...

Once upon a time you lived in Belfast, surrounded by the craic of friends and family. It’s home. One day you wander to a new land and get yourself a job, maybe it’s a good job, maybe it’s a great job, but you begin to wonder where it will take you in the future. What if there’s more out there? What if the market elsewhere was booming with opportunity? What if the city you called home has more to offer? After all, home is where the craic is... Got it? Okay read on to the reality...

Currently the job market within Belfast is booming, the city has more to offer than ever before with growth across many sectors. Not to mention the social scene, reduced living costs and new build housing which makes living here a very exciting place to be. Let us run you through some of the reasons Sophie Cousans our HR Recruitment Specialist returned to work in Belfast...

  • Apart from the obvious (All my family are here and I had lived away from them for long enough) There are so many great reasons to live in Northern Ireland!

  • The first thing I noticed even before I moved back to NI, was that the job market here is super busy, even for this time of year myself and Richard McFarland are still non stop!

  • There are now around 1000 International companies based in Northern Ireland, who employ well over 100,000 people into multiple sectors - IT, Accountancy, HR and also financial services (to name a few). Belfast is now the number 1 destination globally for Fintech investment and over the past few years there has been a huge increase in new digital start-ups in Northern Ireland – which is amazing considering we have such a low population (compared to other big cities in the world)

  • The above, factored in with the fact that Belfast is one of the most affordable cities in the UK to buy a house, plus the overall cost of living here is lower too, meant coming back to Northern Ireland was a no-brainer for me, I just wish I’d done it sooner now!
