Recruitment Officer – Thompson Aero Seating

The current industrial footprint covers 20,000 m2 across four sites located in the Portadown and Banbridge areas and includes full design, engineering, certification, manufacturing and R&D capabilities.

In December 2016 Thompson was acquired by AVIC (Aviation Industry Corporation of China), one of the world’s largest and leading aerospace companies. With Thompson’s planned future growth and expansion plans being backed and endorsed by AVIC, together with the ability to offer a broader range of aircraft cabin interior products from other companies within the AVIC group, the Thompson success story looks well set to continue.

As part of the growth and planned expansion, the organisation is excited to take the first step by implementing a build out of their current HR function, which will result in a number of new and highly exciting opportunities. This will include the appointment of a new Recruitment Officer vacancy.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible primarily for the sourcing of candidates ensuring adequate talent pools are developed for current and future hiring plans. You will be involved in the full recruitment lifecycle and will be expected to adopt an innovative and creative approach to the organisations recruitment needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working in partnership with departmental managers and HRD Business Partners, to develop knowledge of business unit requirements, both current and future
  • Create job descriptions, source, screen and alongside departmental managers, conduct interviews
  • Build candidate pools for the respective business unit
  • Coordinate and attend recruitment events to promote the organisation to both graduate and experienced hires
  • Attend and participate in recruitment strategy and development meetings

The Person

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a recruitment role(Agency or In-house)
  • Proven experience of sourcing candidates
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including well developed presentation and negotiation skills
