VANRATH are delighted to be assisting a major client with the Recruitment of an Experienced Transport Planner to join an experienced and dynamic team based in Craigavon.
Salary - £30,500 - £38,00
Hours - Mon-Fri- 15:00-12:00am - One Sunday in Four
Responsibilities:
Join our team as a Transport Planner, where you'll play a key role in managing the logistics of our drivers, vehicles, and subcontractors. You'll be responsible for optimizing route efficiency and ensuring smooth operations while maintaining strong customer relationships and upholding compliance with industry regulations.
Responsibilities
In this role, you'll:
- Strategically assign routes and loads to drivers and subcontractors for collections, ensuring schedules are planned with maximum efficiency.
- Brief and debrief drivers, delivering all necessary route and collection details for each job.
- Act as a primary point of contact for our customers, promoting a standard of customer excellence across all interactions.
- Stay informed on Road Haulage legislation to ensure all routes and operations are compliant.
- Maintain updated records and input accurate information into company systems to streamline daily logistics.
Required Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will bring:
- At least one year of experience in transport planning.
- Hands-on experience with Manpak/Mandata software.
- Proven ability to work closely with both customers and drivers on a daily basis, as well as experience supporting senior management.
- Familiarity with IT systems used in planning and logistics, along with proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong leadership abilities to motivate and engage teams, as well as effective problem-solving skills and resilience under pressure.
