Design Manager
Are you looking for a Design Manager role? Interested in working for a construction company specialising in civil engineering and building work.
VANRATH are recruiting a Design Manager to join a civil engineering and building work specialist.

Responsibilities:
- Experienced in managing design and pre-construction projects for the Education and Healthcare sectors.
- Knowledgeable about JCT Design & Build contracts.
- Experienced in using programming software such as Asta Powerproject and experience in using common data environment (CDE) software such as Viewpoint, Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Strong grasp of the commercial aspects of off-site construction.
- Excellent skills in communication and organisation.
- Coordinate and integrate design tasks into project schedules.
- Assemble and manage design teams to ensure timely and precise project delivery.
- Obtain client design approval and manage design changes during construction.
- Partner with commercial and construction teams to mitigate project risks.
- Maintain the project risk register throughout the pre-construction phase.
- Lead design team meetings, internally and externally.
- Mentor the design team and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Strong knowledge of fire safety, and technical compliance
- Managing the RFI and NCR process.
- Review design drawings in accordance with Current Regulations and identify discrepancies.
The Ideal Person:
- Degree in Technical Design, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- Proven 5+ years' experience in design and technical management within the construction sector (preferably off-site).
- Strong knowledge of planning and building regulations in UK and Ireland.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools including BIM.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Experience in CAD, Revit, SolidWorks
