Are you looking for a Site Manager role? Interested in working for a leading commercial fit-out contractor?

VANRATH are recruiting a Site Manager to work on commercial fit out projects, based in Co. Down, Northern Ireland. Projects are located across Ireland and the UK so the Site Manager will need to be happy to travel and stay away on a weekly basis (home most weekends)

Remuneration:
£50,000 - £55,000 DOE + excellent benefits package

Our client is a leading commercial fit-out contractor based in Co. Down, Northern Ireland. They carry out a range of commercial fit-out projects across various sectors including retail, hospitality, offices, pharmaceutical, education and other commercial buildings.

The business has a great reputation for consistently delivering outstanding results that exceed client expectations and continue to win repeat business. Business is busy and they are on the lookout for a Site Manager to join them on a permanent basis.

The Site Manager will be responsible for delivering high quality projects from inception through to completion, managing a fast-paced team on site, ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed at all times on site
  • Overall responsibility for the day-to-day site management of fast-paced fit-out projects ranging from 6 weeks to 26 weeks in duration
  • Management of subcontractors on site to ensure they have all required to deliver their work and that their work is to a high level of quality craftmanship
  • Working in close partnership with the Project Manager to ensure that projects are delivered on time and to the highest quality standard
  • Reading and understanding drawings and plans with an ability to convert into action and direction for other site-based staff and subcontractors
  • Plan two - three weeks in advance to ensure good coordination of labour and materials on site
  • Management of all site administration using digital software (training provided)
  • Coordinate and order materials and equipment needed on site
  • Manage the quality of workmanship on site
  • Manage all other labour requirements on site
  • Rapid close out of any snags towards the end of the project and before PC
  • Ongoing travel to ROI and / or GB for the management of site will be an integral part of this role


The Ideal Person:

  • Track record working as a No.1 Site Manager for a reputable Main Contractor
  • Good communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients and stakeholders
  • Fit out experience managing projects ranging from £100k to £1m
  • Joinery background is preferred but not essential
  • CSR / CSCS Card
  • First Aid Training Card
  • Confidence in leading, while working in a team environment
  • Excellent eye for detail and exceptional quality
  • Proficiency in managing subcontractors and trades
  • Essential: willing to travel to ROI and / or GB on a weekly basis (home most weekends but sometimes will be required to work on a Saturday)
