VANRATH are pleased to be working with a well-known Public Sector Organisation through a period of significant growth looking for an Senior Finance Officer to assist with their finance operation. This is an excellent opportunity offering an immediate start and an initial contract of 4 months.

What you'll do

The postholder will be responsible for the provision of financial information for month end and annual reporting in accordance with strict deadlines, for ensuring an adequate audit trail exists and for the provision of information, explanations and working papers to internal and external auditors. The postholder will also assist in maintaining the integrity of the Finance, Procurement and Logistics System (FPL) through the application of sound procedures and controls, including access controls and the efficient application of the use of codes.

  • Assist in the preparation of payment schedules based on a claims process.
  • Assist in the identification and implementation of process/system improvements necessary to ensure compliance with guidance and new/evolving reporting requirements.
  • Maintain detailed records supported by account reconciled.
  • Liaise with Finance colleagues across the Directorate to identify issues affecting payments within the specified scheme.
  • Support the FS Accountant in the calculation of accruals and charges for monthly and annual reporting purposes.
  • Support the FS Accountant in the production and submission of regular and ad hoc returns.
  • Assist with the production of the financial information required for reports.

About You

A University Degree or equivalent higher qualification in a Finance related discipline e.g. Business Studies, Accounting or Management AND worked for 1 years in a Finance role of which 1 year should be at a supervisory level*

Technicians professional qualification AND worked for 1 year in a Finance role at a supervisory level*

OR HNC/HND or equivalent/higher qualification in a business/finance related field AND 2 years' experience in a Finance role of which 1 year should be at a supervisory level*

OR 3 years' experience in a Finance role of which 2 years should be at a supervisory level*
