Role: Procurement Officer - Temporary - Belfast
Job Overview
VANRATH are assisting our client, in their search for a Procurement Officer to join the team on an initial temporary contract. Reporting to the Senior Buyer, you'll play a key role in sourcing materials, processing orders, and managing supplier relationships

  • Salary: £30,500
  • Temporary, with view to extend
  • Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Senior Buyer with purchasing raw materials, components, and services.
  • Processing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and updating internal systems.
  • Liaising with suppliers to confirm orders, negotiate prices, and resolve any issues.
  • Maintaining accurate procurement records, including invoices, contracts, and supplier details.
  • Monitoring stock levels and ensuring timely replenishment of materials.
  • Conducting market research and supplier evaluations to support procurement decisions.
  • Ensuring all purchases comply with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Supporting cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.

What We're Looking For

  • Some experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain (manufacturing experience preferred).
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ideally experience with ERP or procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • A proactive and problem-solving mindset.
  • A relevant qualification in procurement, business administration, or supply chain management is a plus.
  • Studying towards or interested in a CIPS qualification is desirable.
