Role: Procurement Officer - Temporary - Belfast
Job Overview
VANRATH are assisting our client, in their search for a Procurement Officer to join the team on an initial temporary contract. Reporting to the Senior Buyer, you'll play a key role in sourcing materials, processing orders, and managing supplier relationships
- Salary: £30,500
- Temporary, with view to extend
- Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting the Senior Buyer with purchasing raw materials, components, and services.
- Processing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and updating internal systems.
- Liaising with suppliers to confirm orders, negotiate prices, and resolve any issues.
- Maintaining accurate procurement records, including invoices, contracts, and supplier details.
- Monitoring stock levels and ensuring timely replenishment of materials.
- Conducting market research and supplier evaluations to support procurement decisions.
- Ensuring all purchases comply with company policies and industry regulations.
- Supporting cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
What We're Looking For
- Some experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain (manufacturing experience preferred).
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ideally experience with ERP or procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- A proactive and problem-solving mindset.
- A relevant qualification in procurement, business administration, or supply chain management is a plus.
- Studying towards or interested in a CIPS qualification is desirable.
