PARK ATTENDANT / RECEPTIONIST
Location: Kilbroney Forest Park, Rostrevor, Co. Down
Additional Locations: Slieve Gullion Forest Park and Camlough Lake, as required
Salary: Starting at £10.42
Reports to: Park Warden
Car User: Essential. The post-holder must own a car and hold a valid driving licence to assist at other sites and operate the on-site service vehicle.

Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Park Attendant / Receptionist to join the team at Kilbroney Forest Park. This multi-faceted role involves maintaining park facilities, welcoming visitors, managing bookings, and ensuring a high standard of service and safety across all park operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Park and Campsite Maintenance: Handle daily park upkeep, including waste management, minor repairs, grass care, and winter salting, using both powered and manual tools.
- Visitor Reception and Support: Welcome visitors, collect parking fees, and manage financial paperwork. Maintain records, ensure the safety of funds, and provide information to guests.
- Safety and Security: Conduct routine safety checks, report defects, and handle emergency repairs and actions as needed.
- Facility Management: Open and close park facilities, ensuring they are well-maintained and visitor-ready.
- Caravan Park and Event Bookings: Respond to booking enquiries, manage the computerised booking system, and keep related spreadsheets.
- First Aid Administration: Provide first aid when necessary.
- Adherence to Policies: Follow all corporate policies and procedures.
General Duties
- Perform tasks in compliance with Health and Safety legislation, relevant Council policies, and maintain confidentiality.
- Participate in staff training to keep skills current.
- Contribute to the positive reputation of the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council.
- Be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Education: GCSEs (Grades A-C) in English Language and Maths or equivalent.
- Experience:
- At least 6 months of cash handling experience.
- Minimum 1 year in customer service or reception, with experience in public-facing roles.
- Experience in patrol and enforcement duties, including ticketing and public conduct maintenance.
Skills and Requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Email, Spreadsheets).
- Awareness of Health and Safety practices in a public environment.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
