Senior Oracle Database Administrator
Job Title: Oracle System DBA (6-Month Temporary Contract)
Location: Belfast Hybrid (must visit the office weekly)
Salary: 50K - 57K annual
A leading health care organisation is seeking an experienced Oracle System DBA for a 6-month contract role. This position offers the opportunity to lead impactful projects, manage critical database systems, and work with a dynamic team in a challenging environment. The role will lead to a permanent position for the right person.
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Management: Oversee Oracle Database System management, server configuration, installations, upgrades, security patches, performance monitoring, user management, and backup & recovery.
- Project Leadership: Lead complex ICT-supported projects with budgets over £100,000, ensuring successful project delivery.
- Team Management: Manage a team to support and maintain database systems, while promoting effective collaboration with development and operations teams.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with a range of stakeholders to drive change and achieve positive outcomes for the organisation.
Essential Criteria:
- Qualifications:
- Degree or professional qualification with 3+ years in an Oracle System DBA role within the last 5 years in a major organisation, or
- 5+ years of Oracle DBA experience within the last 7 years in a major organisation.
- Project Experience: Proven experience leading ICT projects with budgets over £100,000.
- Team Management: At least 3 years of experience managing a team.
Required Skills:
- Broad database-related technical knowledge, staying current with new tech developments.
- Experience managing licenses and support contracts.
- Strong change management experience with evidence of successfully leading organisational change.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of Cache, MySQL, or Postgres.
- PRINCE2 or ITIL qualifications.
