NPI Engineer
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced NPI Engineer to lead and coordinate New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from the initial quoting stage through to production readiness. This role is pivotal in ensuring a smooth transition of projects into manufacturing while meeting customer requirements, deadlines, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple NPI projects simultaneously, ensuring efficient planning, execution, and delivery.
- Interpret customer specifications and drawings to create accurate manufacturing data.
- Create detailed Bills of Materials (BOM) and product structures tailored to manufacturing needs.
- Develop clear operator build instructions and supporting process documentation for production.
- Define process times and identify the most effective manufacturing methods to enhance productivity.
- Provide expert support for customising existing designs and build-to-print products.
- Assist with model and pre-production builds as required to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Maintain detailed and up-to-date records for all projects and production data.
- Collaborate on contract reviews to address technical and commercial considerations.
- Implement and coordinate Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) for ongoing production.
- Ensure all documentation adheres to ISO 9001 standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Solid background in mechanical and electrical assemblies, including their manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated expertise in project management.
Desirable:
- Degree or HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in PCB assembly (PCBA) manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of cable manufacturing, electro-mechanical assembly, and system integration.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software.
- Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
