Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Belfast

About the Role:
As a Manufacturing Engineer, your primary focus will be on designing, implementing, and refining manufacturing processes to ensure efficient, high-quality, and safe assembly operations. You will collaborate closely with design engineers, production teams, and quality control to streamline assembly workflows, resolve operational challenges, and introduce cost-effective improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimise assembly processes for efficiency, safety, and product quality.
  • Design and implement assembly line layouts and procedures.
  • Conduct time and motion studies to identify improvements.
  • Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical support to assembly operations, troubleshooting equipment and process issues.
  • Ensure assembly processes meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain documentation such as risk assessments, work instructions, and SOPs.
  • Specify, procure, and oversee tools and equipment installation.
  • Develop preventative maintenance plans and coordinate repairs.
  • Collaborate with quality control to meet product standards, analyse data, and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead process improvement projects, managing timelines, budgets, and cross-functional teams.
  • Train staff on new processes and equipment, developing materials and staying updated on industry trends.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.(Essential)
  • Six Sigma certification. (Desirable not essential)
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems. (Desirable not essential)

Relevant Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably in assembly operations.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with CAD software and manufacturing process simulation tools.
  • Proficient in data analysis and problem-solving techniques.
  • Primarily based in a manufacturing plant environment, with occasional travel to supplier sites or other company locations.
