VANRATH are delighted to be assisting a major client with the Recruitment of a Logistics Manager to join a growing and dynamic team.

Hours - 07:30-18:00 - Flexible Start times up to 08:30

Salary - £35,000 - £40,000 + Overtime available

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage and oversee the distribution department, including domestic drivers and the routing team across five locations.
  • Ensure vehicles in your area are routed and scheduled in compliance with driver's hours regulations and the Working Time Directive.
  • Maintain efficient communication between the department and sales teams regarding delivery schedules and related matters.
  • Guarantee the safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of products while adhering to health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Monitor and manage drivers' hours, breaks, and tachograph usage in line with current legislation.
  • Oversee rota planning, timesheet analysis, and daily operational checks.
  • Ensure accurate completion and maintenance of all departmental documentation and administrative tasks daily.
  • Supervise vehicle monitoring and coordinate minor maintenance for the domestic tanker fleet within your responsibility.
  • Manage driver annual leave and absences, working closely with the HR department.
  • Collaborate with HR on driver recruitment, including interviews, inductions, training, and the provision of PPE.
  • Keep the Operations Director informed of any road traffic accidents (RTAs) or vehicle maintenance issues.
  • Investigate transport-related incidents such as RTAs, contamination, spillage, property damage, vehicle damage, or driver misconduct, ensuring completion of all relevant driver documentation and reports.
  • Oversee depot management, including monitoring product storage, water dips, markings/description, meters, and tank gauging to ensure compliance with required quality standards.
  • Provide excellent customer care at all times.

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within the transport sector.
  • Strong knowledge of transport regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Possession of a category C+E license, ADR license, and CPC (preferred).
  • Excellent geographic knowledge of Northern Ireland and familiarity with planning/scheduling systems (preferred).
