Job Advertisement: Stock Controller

Location: Newry Campus (with travel to other campuses as required)
Salary: £23,500 per annum
Contract: Temporary, full-time, 36 hours per week (Interim until 31st March 2025)

Overview:

VANRATH are recruiting on behalf of a leading education institution for a Stock Controller. This role will support the effective operation of campus kitchens and restaurants by maintaining accurate stock control and ensuring efficient procurement and storage of resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor the online stock control system to support curriculum delivery.
  • Procure food commodities to ensure minimal waste, maintaining quality and compliance with food safety standards.
  • Oversee storage, inventory management, and invoice processing for deliveries.
  • Support regular stock-takes, maintain records, and assist in cost control.
  • Ensure health, hygiene, and safety standards are adhered to, including HACCP documentation.
  • Provide cover for campus functions and support marketing and staff development initiatives.

Essential Criteria:

  • Level 3 qualification (or higher) in any discipline.
  • GCSE in English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • At least two years' experience in stock control within a catering environment.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Level 2 qualification in ICT (or higher) or equivalent.
  • NVQ Level 2 (or higher) in Professional Cookery or equivalent.

Additional Requirements:

Ability to travel between campuses, holding a full UK driving license or equivalent access to transportation.
