About your next employer
As a temporary HR Business Support Partner (BSP), you will provide HR support and advice to colleagues, line managers and stakeholders, ensuring, fairness and consistency in the application of all HR related policies and procedures. You will work with HR management to, create and develop innovative recruitment methods and increase employee engagement, while working to meet business needs and ensuring the HR service provided adds value to the College. This is an exciting role which will provide the opportunity to deliver specialist projects identified as priority areas of work within the College.
What you'll do
The post holder will:

  • Develop effective relationships and work in partnership with department managers to understand and proactively support current and future business needs and department challenges.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with key stakeholders and provide timely responses to queries.
  • Advise and coach managers on the application of HR policies and procedures, driving compliance and consistency.
  • Provide advice, support and guidance to all employees on HR processes and policies e.g. recruitment & selection, terms and conditions, employee relations and sickness absence/welfare.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant legislation such as employment, equal opportunities and data protection legislation.
  • Advise and support managers with employee relations investigations and the resolution of complaints, issues and concerns to minimise the risk of litigation.
  • Guide managers in the optimum utilisation of their teams and performance management.
  • Provide training to employees in HR related areas and drive a culture to support employees to become the best they can be.
  • Support the Head of HR & OD and HR Manager on work-based projects eg Digitisation of HR records.
  • Keep up to date with current external trends and best practice in HR.
  • Seek to continually provide a high-quality HR support partner service to all staff across the College.
  • Ensure the promotion of equality and diversity through all HR processes.
  • Promote vision, mission and core values of College.

Key area - Reports

  • Continually review the HR reports to ensure they are adding value to the HR function and business needs.
  • Prepare statistical returns as required by external agencies and Line Management.
  • Produce statistical reports relating to sickness absence, staffing profile, employee relations and recruitment.
  • Assist with the compilation of the Equality Commission annual report on equal opportunities monitoring.
  • Assist with the compilation of the Article 55 report on equal opportunities monitoring which is submitted three yearly as required by legislation.
  • Run, update and analyse weekly and monthly HR reports, identifying and reporting on trends, and using data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of policies and procedures.


Key area - Operational

  • Write, review and update HR working procedures to improve processes, sharing best practice within the HR team to ensure compliance and consistency.
  • Review HR policies on request of Head of HR & OD.
  • Maintain the HR database, to reflect current accurate information and Payroll updates.
  • Develop and maintain Workflows on the HR database to make efficiencies in HR processes.
  • Provide proactive resourcing advice and cost effective and innovative recruitment solutions.
  • Oversee and drive Recruitment and Selection campaigns in accordance with the College's procedures and legislation; acting as HR Advisor on selection panels.
  • Prepare job advertisements and all associated recruitment documentation, uploading jobs onto internal and external sites and set up of recruitment panels as per the recruitment and selection process.
  • Liaise with recruitment agencies to secure suitable staff for the College, negotiating the best charge rates possible.

About you
Essential:
Minimum of 5 GCSEs grades A-C or equivalent including English Language and Maths.
Level 5 qualification in a relevant discipline plus 3 years' experience (within the last 5 years) in a generalist HR role providing advice and support to line managers across an organisation to include:

* Employee welfare
OR
CIPD L3 and 3 years' work experience (within the last 5 years) in a generalist HR role providing advice and support to line managers across an organisation to include:
* Resourcing
* Employee relations
* Employee welfare
OR
CIPD L5 and 2 years' work experience (within the last 5 years) in a generalist HR role providing advice and support to line managers across an organisation to include:
* Resourcing
* Employee relations
* Employee welfare

Desirable:
Current Membership of Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development
