VANRATH are delighted to be assisting our client, a rapidly expanding & award winning Public Sector organisation with the recruitment of a Housing Officer to join their team based in Derry.

This is a Full-Time Monday - Friday position with hybrid working.

Salary

£31,025 - £37,231 + fantastic benefits in a modern organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • To carry out scheme visits and audits in accordance with the organisation's procedures.
  • To develop and maintain positive working relationships with local partners and agencies including Local Councils, PSNI, Social Services, communities and the general public.
  • To carry out estate walkabouts with the property services officer.
  • To investigate and assist in resolving complaints and disputes between tenants.
  • Work closely with the property services team to ensure that all maintenance items are dealt with effectively.
  • Take appropriate action to deal with breaches of Tenancy Agreement and Conditions of Tenancy.
  • To allocate all voids, arrange viewings and complete sign ups with applicants in accordance with the Rules of the Northern Ireland Housing Selection Scheme and the Association's policies and procedures, including appropriate record keeping.
  • To provide support and advice to the providers of housing support services.
  • To regularly monitor the payment of rent and other debts, taking prompt and appropriate recovery action in accordance with the Association's policies and procedures.

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree in any discipline & 2 years' relevant housing / tenancy management experience with a social landlord or local authority. Alternatively, 3 years' experience as a Housing Officer within the last 5 years.
  • Working knowledge of the rules of the Housing Selection Scheme.
  • Experience of Microsoft Office programmes including Excel and Word.
  • Full UK Driving License and access to a vehicle for daily business use.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in using HMS (or an equivalent Housing Waiting list system)
  • One years' experience of staff/team management.
