Health and Safety Manager

Job Description

VANRATH are delighted to be assisting a Major Employer with the Recruitment of a Health & Safety Manager to join a growing and dynamic team based in their Enniskillen Office.

Hours - Mon-Fri-08:00-17:00

Salary - £35,000 - £40,000 (Negotiable DOE)

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement effective QSHE policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with local, national, and international regulations.
  • Identify potential hazards, assess risks, and develop strategies to mitigate risks across all operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental laws, regulations, and standards. Regularly update policies to reflect changes in legislation.
  • Conduct regular QSHE training sessions for employees at all levels, fostering a culture of safety and environmental awareness.
  • Lead investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses. Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Oversee initiatives aimed at reducing the company's environmental footprint, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, and sustainable practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of QSHE activities, incidents, and performance metrics. Prepare and present regular reports to senior management.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and innovations. Continuously improve QSHE programs and policies to enhance workplace safety and environmental sustainability.

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in QSHE management, preferably within the manufacturing or quarry industry. Quarry experience is desirable but not essential. Training can be provided.
  • NEBOSH qualified.
  • Experience in permits to work and safe work practices (SWP).
  • ISO audit experience.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others.
  • Proven track record in successfully managing QSHE programs and driving cultural change.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment, incident investigation, and QSHE auditing.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
