Financial Controller (Derry)

VANRATH are delighted to be working in partnership with a global manufacturing company based in Derry/Londonderry with multiple sites globallyto recruit a technically strong Financial Controller. Reporting to the CFO the Financial Controller will manage the financial operations of site, providing strategic guidance, robust financial reporting, and compliance oversight.

The Role:

  • Responsible for the integrity of the accounts and to ensure that the accounting function operates at all times in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and board policy.
  • Ensuring that the specific ledgers, records and books of accounts such as payroll records and proper expense distribution are maintained to satisfy company and governmental requirements
  • Liaison with Auditors to complete year end statutory accounts in a timely fashion as required and ensure that no major write-ups are received.
  • Establishing annual budgets, monthly accounts, and weekly forecasts, in line with business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain effective programs so departmental KPI's and budgets are monitored and controlled.
  • Maintain adequate internal controls
  • Assisting in the preparation of and review of project requests for all capital expenditure.
  • Communicate, motivate and develop subordinates through regular performance reviews including annual reviews, involvement in target setting and through routine exchanges.
  • Develop an understanding of product standard costs, working closely with the group costing team to ensure accuracy and understand impact on the business.
  • About you
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Proven management experience in a commercial environment, ideally within manufacturing
  • Proven experience of effective planning and organisation skills
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Experience of providing financial information at senior level
