Financial Accountant (Public Sector, Newry)

VANRATH are pleased to be recruiting for a Band 7 Financial Accountant to join a Public Sector organisation based in Newry. This role would be ideal for a Qualified Accountant who is immediately available and looking for a new challenge. Previous experience within the public sector would be advantageous for this role.


The Role

Duties are as follows:

1. Support the Head of Financial Services in providing effective, efficient, and economic financial services.
2. Participate in the assessment and development of financial systems so that all financial transactions are accurately and promptly processed, and that information produced can be relied upon to enable effective decision making.
3. Ensure that financial systems, procedures, and processes are developed and implemented to deliver financial services in a transparent and accountable manner, including implementing any audit recommendations.
4. Support the Head of Finance to monitor and review the quality of financial services delivered to the business including provision of information on a range of performance indicators.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Full membership of one of the 5 CCAB recognised professional accounting bodies
• 3 years' experience in a Finance Department with the proven ability to analyse highly complex data and communicate effectively.

Remuneration:

£42,000-£45,000
