Client

A leading public sector organisation based in Ballymena requires a Finance Analyst to join their team for a period of 6 months. The Finance Analyst will assist in the provision of a fully integrated Financial Management Service, including the design and provision of budgets that reflect the service and available resources, ensuring that effective budgetary control is applied throughout the organisation.

This role will work closely with operational managers, focusing on budget management, monitoring expenditure and income. To be considered for this role it is essential to have strong communication skills with the confidence to present financial figures to non-finance staff.

The Ideal Person

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Month end accounting experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • High level IT literacy, including MS Excel
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Available at short notice

Responsibilities

As a Finance Analyst you will:

  • Assist with the establishment, development and maintenance of an efficient and effective system of budgetary control
  • Develop and maintain an appropriate suite of financial management reports for budget managers
  • Preparing month end analysis
  • Preparation & posting of journals
  • Liaise with Budget managers on a regular basis to review financial performance and to assist them in the understanding and interpretation of their budgetary position.
  • Reporting financial information to senior management
  • Attending board meetings to explain variances
  • Assist with wider finance team as and when required
  • Ad hoc project work
