These roles are focused on a large and complex regional transformation programme to replace the current Finance, Procurement, HR and Pay and Travel Management Systems.

VANRATH are pleased to be working exclusively with a leading public sector employer based in Belfast city centre as they roll out a large transformation programme.

As the Systems Lead Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing and leading the system design and implementation throughout all key phases of the Programme for the finance function in accordance with agreed timelines and budget. As Systems Lead, you will be tasked with overseeing key business areas and stakeholders to ensure the successful design and implementation of the project which will be provided via Oracle.

Key Duties / Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the design and implementation of the relevant functional processes, from both a system and wider business process perspective, across the life cycle of the Programme, from design to implementation and in preparation for programme closure, leading all process areas across the function.
  • Develop, monitor and implement project and implementation plans, ensuring effective collaboration and communication to a complex stakeholder landscape.
  • Manage the SI Partner to critical Programme time lines, ensuring deliverables are understood.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of Oracle functionality and provide specialist advice on functional business processes, best practice and approaches to senior Programme stakeholders including at Programme Governance and regional leadership forums.
  • Manage escalations from Process Design and Implementation Leads across the function related to system design and manage related negotiations with senior business stakeholders on contentious process changes.
  • Define and manage the governance frameworks, with overall accountability for the Function including design decisions across the function, management of functional membership, escalation and co-ordination of risks and issues within the function and across related functions, cascade of information across functional regional groups.
  • Overall responsibility for planning, monitoring and reporting on functional activity and deliverables (such as highlight reports, plans, Risks Issues and Dependencies updates) ensuring alignment and achievement of strategic Programme objectives.
