Employee Relations Manager
Looking for your next career move in public sector HR? VANRATH are partnering with a local public sector organisation to recruit for an Employee Relations Manager who will be responsible for developing and maintaining positive employee relations. You will provide comprehensive support and fair and consistent advice to staff involved in employee relations matters.
About you

  • A level 5 qualification in HR or a degree in a related area eg Business Studies
  • GCSE English Language and Maths at Grade C or above, or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working in an HR role providing advice and support on a range of HR matters to staff at all levels, including senior management
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of Employment law, policy, processes and procedures relating to employee relations within NI and their impact on the organisation
  • Proven experience of analysing information and compiling reports for management
  • Experience of dealing effectively with a range of complex employee relations issues
  • Experience of using conflict resolution techniques and mediation skills to address and resolve employee relations issues and conflicts.


What you'll do

  • Develop and implement employee relations strategies and programs that foster positive relationships and a productive work environment.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment practices, in particular those associated with employee relations matters.
  • As required, investigate and resolve employee grievances, conducting thorough and impartial investigations in a timely manner. Compiling associated investigation report.
  • Mediate and facilitate discussions between employees and management to resolve conflicts at an early, informal stage and to promote effective communication between parties.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with local Trade Union reps to assist with the management of informal and formal employee relations issues.
  • Provide coaching and training to managers on employee relations matters and conflict resolution.
  • Develop and deliver employee relations training programs to enhance understanding and awareness among employees.
