Overview

Our public sector client within the education sector is currently looking for an Educational Technology Specialist who will support lecturing teams in accessing and effectively utilising educational technology tools such as Canvas, Eportfolio, Clickview, and various AI platforms. The role involves integrating these technologies with the college's Learning Management System (LMS) to enhance teaching and learning experiences.

About you

  • A degree in Educational Technology, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in supporting and training staff in the use of educational technologies.
  • Proficiency in using and integrating tools such as Canvas, Eportfolio, Clickview, and AI platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

What you'll do as a Educational Technology Specialist

  1. Technology Integration:
    • Assist in the integration of educational technologies with the college's LMS.
    • Ensure seamless operation and compatibility of tools like Canvas, Eportfolio, Clickview, and AI platforms.
  2. Support and Training:
    • Provide technical support to lecturing teams in using educational technologies.
    • Develop and deliver training sessions and workshops for staff on the effective use of these tools.
    • Create user guides and documentation to aid staff in utilising the chosen educational technologies.
  3. Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the Learning Technology Manager to identify and implement new technologies.
    • Collaborate with IT and academic staff to ensure the smooth deployment of educational tools.
    • Participate in cross-departmental projects to enhance digital learning environments.
  4. Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
    • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to educational technologies.
    • Perform regular maintenance and updates to ensure all tools are functioning optimally.
  5. Innovation and Development:
    • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in educational technology.
    • Propose and implement innovative solutions to improve teaching and learning experiences.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of current technologies and recommend improvements.
  6. Data Management and Security:
    • Ensure the secure handling of data within educational technologies.
    • Adhere to data protection regulations and college policies.
