Shift: Day shift or days and evenings with shift premium

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Dual Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our clients talented maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be versatile, with proficiency in both mechanical and electrical maintenance. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and improvement of equipment, minimising downtime and maximising productivity.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to minimise downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Reactive Maintenance: Respond promptly to breakdowns, diagnosing faults and repairing machinery efficiently to minimise disruption to production.
  • Electrical Maintenance: Perform electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and installations on industrial machinery, including motors, drives, PLCs, and control panels.
  • Mechanical Maintenance: Carry out mechanical repairs and maintenance on various equipment such as conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and other production machinery.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for process and equipment improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work completed and parts used, ensuring all documentation is up to date.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications:
    • Relevant qualifications in either mechanical and electrical engineering (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent).
    • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (Desirable).
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience as a multi-skilled maintenance engineer in a similar industrial environment.
    • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience with PLCs, electrical drives, and automation systems.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in both mechanical and electrical maintenance.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Proactive approach to maintenance and problem-solving.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • High level of attention to detail.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
    • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development.
