Overview

Our public sector client within the education sector is currently looking for a Digital Learning and Innovation Specialist, who will play a key role in assisting staff in creating quality digital learning resources and have the opportunity to develop their creative skills. This position involves working closely with the Creative Excellence Manager, academic staff, and students to develop digital learning solutions that meet specific educational requirements. You will proactively support staff in managing and utilising learning resources and recommended Generative AI platforms for teaching and learning effectively.

About you

  • A degree in Educational Technology, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in supporting and training staff in the use of educational technologies.
  • Proficiency in using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and tools such as Canvas, Eportfolio, Clickview.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

What you'll do as a Digital Learning and Innovation Specialist

  • Design and deliver professional development sessions, training workshops, webinars, and drop-in sessions for staff on digital pedagogy and innovative teaching methods.
  • Create, develop, and maintain training resources and user guides in various formats, including online training and screencasts, to support the effective use of digital tools and techniques in teaching.
  • Supervise placement students, providing training on digital pedagogy and ensuring the quality of the content they produce.
  • Develop training resources and conduct workshops for students on digital tools, such as e-portfolios, to enhance their learning experience.
  • Review and report on innovative educational practices, including Generative AI, game-based learning and virtual/augmented reality (VR/AR), to enhance digital teaching and learning.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by assisting staff in creating innovative digital learning resources and supporting the development of engaging educational content.
  • Identify where staff need instructional design support and collaborate with the Creative Excellence Manager to provide necessary training and guidance.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to design and develop interactive digital learning resources that align with specified learning objectives.
  • Advise staff on how digital tools and techniques can be used to improve the accessibility and effectiveness of teaching and learning resources.
  • Provide support to staff on using digital tools, identify common challenges, and make recommendations for addressing these through targeted guidance or training.
  • Assist in maintaining digital learning platforms and tools, ensuring they are effectively used to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
  • Support the integration of digital tools with the College's Learning Management System (LMS) Canvas, offering training and assistance to staff as needed.
  • Provide support to staff on using College recommended and approved Gen AI Platforms to enhance teaching and learning.
