Data Developer ( Qlik Sense )

Job Description

As a Data Developer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and implementing Business Intelligence (BI) solutions and Proofs of Concept (PoCs) using Qlik Sense. Reporting directly to the Cloud & Product Manager, you will work closely with stakeholders to gather and understand business requirements, drive continuous improvement practices, and optimise existing BI solutions. Additionally, you will provide coaching and support to other IT department members, ensuring that the team's outputs align with the organisation's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Qlik Sense Development & Implementation:

  • Design, build, and implement reporting and BI solutions using Qlik Sense.
  • Develop Proofs of Concept (PoCs) to demonstrate the viability of proposed BI solutions.
  • Implement changes and enhancements to existing Qlik Sense applications.
  • Optimise and redesign existing Qlik Sense products to improve performance and usability.


Stakeholder Collaboration & Requirements Gathering:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand business processes and requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications for BI solutions.
  • Develop detailed stories/requirements that define the low-level design and technical solution architecture.


Continuous Improvement & Optimisation:

  • Review and analyse existing Qlik Sense products, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Implement best practices for continuous improvement in BI processes and solutions.
  • Stay updated with the latest Qlik Sense features and trends to enhance solution design and functionality.


Coaching & Development:

  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and technical guidance to other members of the IT department.
  • Support the development of team members' skills and capabilities in Qlik Sense and related technologies.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience in Qlik Sense development and BI solution design.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling, data analysis, and visualisation techniques.
  • Experience in gathering and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in coaching and developing team members is an advantage.
