About you
- At least 5 years credit underwriting experience
- Knowledge of the commercial asset finance market and asset finance products
- Attention to detail, excellent numeracy, excellent written and verbal communication
- Commerciality - you must be able to see a good deal from a bad one and put your rationale across
- Ability to read and interpret credit-checks, small business financials and bank statements and draw educated conclusions from same
- Confidence and willingness to make decisions and recommendations based on your own views of a proposal
- We are a fast paced business and ability to take on a task and deliver an efficient turn-around is important
What you'll do
As a Credit Underwriter your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing broker and dealer introduced commercial credit applications
- Handling dealer and direct credit applications over the phone and by email
- Speaking with clients on the phone and proactively asking relevant questions
- Liaising with brokers and dealers on the phone and by email
- Conducting and assessing credit searches
- Assessing financial statements and bank statements
- Preparing, investigating, recommending and decisioning applications
- Working alongside and guiding less experienced underwriters
- Managing cases proactively from approval through to documentation
