VANRATH are delighted to be partnering with a leading public sector organisation to recruit a Communications Officer on a 4-month contract, with the potential for extension. This is an excellent opportunity for a communications professional to gain experience in a high-profile role, working within a dynamic corporate communications team.
The Role:
The successful candidate will support the Corporate Communications team in delivering effective internal and external communications, stakeholder engagement, and media relations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the development and implementation of strategic communication plans
- Managing press office functions, handling media enquiries, and drafting press releases
- Supporting internal communications and employee engagement initiatives
- Developing digital content for social media and website platforms
- Assisting with stakeholder engagement and public affairs activities
- Monitoring media coverage and evaluating communications activity
The Ideal Candidate:
Essential Criteria:
βοΈ A degree (or equivalent Level 6 qualification) in Communications, Marketing, PR, Journalism, or a related field
βοΈ At least 2 years' experience in a corporate communications role
βοΈ Strong experience in press office/media relations, including handling media enquiries
βοΈ Proven ability to develop and implement communication plans across multiple channels
βοΈ Experience working with internal and external stakeholders to deliver effective communications
βοΈ Excellent writing skills and the ability to create engaging content for various audiences
βοΈ Access to transport to meet the requirements of the role
Desirable Criteria:
β A postgraduate qualification in Communications, PR, or Marketing
β Previous experience in a public sector communications or press office environment
