Catering Supervisor - Dungannon - Public Sector

VANRATH are delighted to be working with a large and well known Public Sector organisation. The client is actively looking for a Catering Supervisor to join their team in Dungannon.

What's in it for you?

  • £12.52 - £12.73 an hour
  • 35 hours a week
  • Monday - Friday

Responsibilities:

  • Skilled cooking activities connected to the full range of menu provision. For example, preparation of menus, portion control & special dietary meals.
  • Ensure that the kitchen and dining areas, if applicable, meet current standards of food safety legislation.
  • Ensuring all catering practice complies with appropriate Health & Safety legislation.
  • Organise and supervise food service.
  • Ensuring effective communication at all levels through regular staff meetings.
  • Supervise and direct other employees including allocating duties and work rotas.
  • Provide induction and on-going staff training.
  • Complete clerical duties associated with the efficient running of the kitchen, including cash handling.
  • Responsible for the managing of all resources to include food, labour and equipment.

Essential Criteria:

  • Two years' experience of food preparation and cooking within a catering establishment.
  • Evidence of effective supervision or management of a catering team.
  • Knowledge of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP).
  • Knowledge of stock control and budget management.
  • Willingness to undertake job related training.
  • Ability to communicate and engage effectively with others as part of a team and with customers.
  • Effective organisational and planning skills.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Evidence in the practical use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience of delivering training.
