Role: Catering Manager- Temporary - Ballynahinch

Job Overview

VANRATH are once again supporting a returning client, a non-profit organisation in their search for a Catering Manager. You will liaise oversee all activities in the kitchen, in an efficient and effective manner to achieve the objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and serve healthy, nourishing, and varied meals, including special dietary requirements.
  • Cook meals as required, including the daily evening meal.
  • Bake as needed to provide fresh, homemade goods.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen by washing up, clearing away equipment, and ensuring hygiene standards are met.
  • Empty bins daily, wash them when necessary, and keep floors swept and washed regularly.
  • Follow hygiene, health, and safety regulations, wearing appropriate protective clothing and suitable footwear.
  • Take responsibility for personal health and safety, as well as that of others.
  • Answer the doorbell and telephone when needed, offering refreshments to visitors.
  • Perform all duties in line with working conditions and be willing to take on any other reasonable tasks as required.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience in food preparation and cooking.
  • Ability to prepare varied, nutritious meals, including special diets.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene, health, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to maintain kitchen cleanliness and organisation.
  • Capability to work independently and provide cover as needed.
  • Good communication skills and a flexible approach.
  • Willingness to follow workplace policies.
