Business Development Manager (IT)

Job Description

VANRATH have exclusively partnered with a well-known and long established company that is a leader in their field. The organisation is recruiting for a Business Development Manager position.

Operating from an office in Omagh, Co Tyrone, the company offers IT managed services, cyber security and cloud solutions helping protect, support and mitigate risk for businesses.

Currently we partner with some of the biggest names in technology and have a client portfolio from diverse business sectors across GB & ROI.

Working closely with the Sales Director, the Business Development Manager is a pivotal commercial role within the business that will make a significant contribution to the continued growth of the Company. The postholder will be a hunter and drive new business growth, develop a network of contacts to attract new customers and identify new business opportunities.

Hours

Monday - Friday

9am - 5pm (Early finish Friday)

This role has an aimed start date of January 2025

Salary
£35,000 - £40,000 plus a fantastic benefits package and BONUS (OTE of £60,000)

+ vehicle or car allowance

Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Responsible for strategically targeting and connecting with business owners, IT managers / CTOs, procurement teams and high-level decision makers within those businesses and establishing strong relationships selling the company services.
  • Manage and identify added-value opportunities with newly acquired customers.
  • Actively source new customers and business opportunities, managing pipeline accordingly and solely within the CRM system.
  • Maintain a customer market intelligence database.
  • Provide quotations, relevant information and data to potential customers as well as presentations, demonstrations and events.
  • Liaise with other business functions such as technical, sales and administration to ensure a seamless customer service.
  • Participate in relevant sales and marketing events to promote the business.
  • Develop and maintain professional working relationships with suppliers and key individuals within the industry.
  • Keep abreast of developments regarding IT services / cyber security.
  • Provide regular sales reports and updates on agreed KPIs including sales targets and projections and the forecasting of revenue from CRM pipeline.
  • Manage all communications through the existing CRM system.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • A minimum of 3+ years experience within a proactive field-based sales hunter role with a successful track record in new customer acquisition and KPI target delivery.
  • Proven experience of acquiring and nurturing new customers whilst achieving and exceeding sales and revenue targets.
  • Maintain customer confidentiality at all times.
  • Strong commercial acumen and customer focus.
  • Ability to make decisions, meet targets and work under pressure.
  • Excellent planning, multi-tasking and organisational skills.
  • People person with excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to network and build strong working relationships with senior level staff.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and be self sufficient.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Highly competent in MS Office to include excel, word and PowerPoint
  • Due to the high level of complexity, being technically minded and proficient is essential.
  • Ability to pass an Access NI check
