Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Solutions Architect with a strong background in Azure to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a development background, preferably in .NET, and will be responsible for transforming existing applications into scalable and reliable cloud solutions. This role requires a collaborative approach, working closely with development and data science teams to ensure best practices in cloud architecture, scalability, reliability, and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Cloud Architecture: Collaborate with development and data science teams to provide guidance on cloud architecture best practices, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Innovation: Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in cloud computing, making recommendations for their adoption and implementation.
- Cloud Solutions: Design and implement cloud-based solutions on Azure, leveraging virtualisation, containers, microservices, and serverless computing.
- Infrastructure as Code: Utilise infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager to automate and manage cloud infrastructure.
- DevOps Integration: Implement and manage continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline development and deployment processes.
- Programming Proficiency: While not mandatory, proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data science, such as Python or R, is desirable.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Cloud SRE/Consultant or similar role, with a focus on public cloud platforms, particularly Azure.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture concepts, including virtualisation, containers, microservices, and serverless computing.
- Relevant cloud certifications, such as Azure Certified Cloud Engineer.
- Development background, preferably in .NET.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data science, such as Python or R.
- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager.
- Experience with DevOps methodologies and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
