Vanrath are recruiting for a Arts Part time Receptionist on behalf of a large public sector body in Lisburn on a temporary basis.

What you'll do

  1. Deal with the public, in person and by telephone in accordance with the Customer Care Standards.
  2. Deal with first-hand client enquiries, problems, difficulties or complaints and record as appropriate to ensure a high level of customer service provision.
  3. Operate of a range of computerised booking/cash systems, room hire, and the uploading and maintaining of all season programme information onto a computerised box office system.
  4. Provide administrative support to the Arts Information and Education Officers.
  5. Maintenance of Customer databases; coalition and evaluation of customer satisfaction surveys and additional features to Box Office.
  6. Undertake market research and marketing activities in the promotion of the Arts Service, including telesales activity, customer care and audience development initiatives.
  7. Provision of clerical and administrative support to Arts Service Officers to include Word Processing, Box Office service, Island Arts Centre's ticketing and cash handling systems, and assisting with the setup of any new software as required. Processing incoming/outgoing mail, reconciliation and lodging of income.
  8. Promotion of services and special events, assisting at events as required, undertaking the handling and selling of related goods and services. Assist with the security of exhibitions and other assets of the Council by being vigilant and reporting occurrences to the acting Duty Officer.
  9. Updating and maintaining the live events section of the website on behalf of Centre Management for all Island Arts Centre shows and performances as instructed by Island Arts Centre Officers.
  10. Participation in the interchange of duties to cover staff breaks, sickness, leave and staff vacancies, etc. Working shift patterns and unsociable hours at times as part of this.
  11. Opening/Closing the Arts Centre in conjunction with the Arts Attendant. Preparation of the Arts Centre for the day ahead.
  12. Ensure all Health & Safety legislation, published relevant guidelines and Council Health & Safety policies and procedures are complied with in relation to the services and activities within the facility.



About you
Essential:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A-C, including English and Mathematics.
  • Proven experience in a front-facing customer service role, ideally within an arts, events, or public service environment.
  • Experience operating computerized booking, cash handling, or ticketing systems.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a similar administrative or box office role.
  • Basic knowledge of the arts sector or public events operations.
