Accounts Assistant

Job Description

We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to support the efficient operation of our client's finance department in Portadown. This role is crucial to the team, providing vital assistance to the Senior Accounts staff.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee credit control for both sales and purchases
- Reconcile nominal ledgers
- Record and log all invoices into the accounting system to ensure timely payments
- Manage banking duties, including bank reconciliations, lodgements, and cash management
- Perform general administrative tasks such as handling mail

Required Experience & Skills:

- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant role, including managing sales and purchase ledgers and performing bank reconciliations
- Accurate and efficient data processing skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Outstanding organisational skills
- Ability to work well within a team
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Experience with computerised accounting systems, particularly Sage Accounts

Desirable Criteria:

- Working towards or holding a relevant qualification, ideally IATI
- Familiarity with the Keyloop computerised system
